This commissioning party is open to all!
Join the party in commissioning a new duet for flute and piano. This piece will be a follow-up to the "Four Movements", the winner of the 2018 Flute New Music Consortium's Composition Competition (flute and accompaniment). That work was a set of four homages to artists who had influenced me in some way: Andre Jolivet, David Lynch, Nico Muhly, and Francis Poulenc. This new crowdsourced commissioned work will be a new set of homages to female artists.
About the Composition:
Instrumentation: Flute and Piano.
Duration: 15-20 minutes
Level: This work will be written at a difficulty level of that of an advanced college student, but interesting enough to be programmed and performed by professionals.
Timeline and Exclusivity:
Deadline to Join: 5/31/2019
Completion Date: 8/31/2019 (music delivered as PDF files to all member on this date)
Consortium Members’ Exclusivity Period: 9/1/2019- 3/30/2020
Public Availability: 3/3/2020
Commissioning Party Fee:
Commission Fee: $50.00 per participant and includes a PDF copy of the work delivered to you, via email.
ALSO: All Commissioning Party members will have their names listed on the final score of the piece!
As a bonus, All participants will receive a copy of the original "Four Movements" for flute and piano.
